NAJIB’S KNEE-JERK ACCEPTANCE OF REALITY MARKS THE FINAL NAILS IN MIC COFFIN ..

Trying to placate TUN Mahathir in order that the old man would not try to oust him from the top post since Najib knows that Kimma members are the old man’s loyalists  why KIMMA still exist when they are already Bumiputra/Melayu by speaking /dressing/partiising similar culture and being Muslim as more Melayu than Melayu and their brothers already held Top Positions in UMNO?..Who are them really?KIMMA already have a full Minister why they want a Deputy Minister? The minister in the PM’s Department, Nor Yaakub the 2nd Finance Minister! He is a pure Mamak, his wife is Mamak and they speak Tamil at home and only speaks Malay at official function!! 99% of Penang UMNO is KIMMA and what about the Penang UMNO Youth leader? You can play a game “guess who is a Malay in Penang UMNO “.
It was a small news item in most papers. But it had a feel-good factor like it always does when Najib have the guts to put their foot down in the face of unreasonable demands. And unreasonable this sure was. Shocking too considering it came from the votaries of power, the very people we have entrusted our future to. How naïve of us.
Kimma president Datuk Syed Ibrahim Kader said the party was facing a “lone struggle” in solving problems in the Indian Muslim community.
“Although we have received recognition as an associate member on Aug 27, 2010, sadly until today, Kimma has not received much cooperation from Umno at state and division levels.
“A lot of them do not have a clear picture of this association. Some were not aware of it and some even questioned it cynically.”
Syed Ibrahim tabled an 18-point resolution, including a call for the post of deputy minister to be given to Kimma.
Najib said he would forward the demands to the cabinet to be discussed and hoped that Kimma would remain a loyal friend of BN.
The only inclusive party is dissolved UMNO and all component parties as Party Parisan N…..or Party 1Malaysia!!!!
Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today moved to soothe complaints that the Indian Muslim community was being marginalised, pointing out that leaders from the community have made it to top government posts.
Defeat is the distance between a bedtime story and a wake-up call. The former starts with ‘Once upon a time…’ and lulls the voter to sleep. The second is an energiser that addresses a fresh dawn.
MIC have become victims of their own success: their narrative has run its course, and they have not been able to find a further chapter to their saga.
The MIC story is the simplest: the fairies have abandoned its fairy tale. It began as the party of refugees from India.  reinvented itself as a champion of indians a psychological rather than an economic need.
Although MIC is confident of avoiding another dismal electoral performance, nonetheless the party leadership is aware that it will be a rough ride.
Najib at Kimma conference“If there are complaints that there are not enough people (Indian Muslim representation) – I don’t want to say this out loud – but who is the Chief Secretary to the government (Ali Hamsa)?” he said.
Speaking at the opening of the 36th Malaysian Indian Muslim Congress (KIMMA) representative conference this morning, Najib was responding to KIMMA President Syed Ibrahim Kader’s speech earlier in which he had said that the community had fallen behind.
“He (Ali) is loyal to us. He is a good man. Malays boleh (can), KIMMA boleh, all boleh. So there is not much distinction between us, there is no wall separating us. We are in the same boat. There is no problem. The only difference is the upper deck or lower deck, everything else is the same,” he said, promising to improve the socio-economic situation of the Indian Muslims.
Kimma president senator Syed Ibrahim Kader Kimma conferenceEarlier, Syed Ibrahim (left) had also complained that KIMMA – a registered political party since 1976, becoming an associate member of UMNO in 2010- had not received cooperation  at the state and divisional levels from the latter.
“Some aren’t even aware of this and others question the associate membership cynically,” he said.
He also put forth an 18-point motion which contained a slew of requests for the Premier, including a Deputy Minister position for the party.
Among other requests include varsity quotas for Indian Muslims, creation of “Indian Muslim” category for birth certificates and KIMMA representation at all local councils and every state Islamic religious council.
‘Indian Muslims part of UMNO’
Najib promised that he would look into the problems of the Indian Muslim community and urged cooperation from UMNO but noted the extraordinarily long list of requests.
“This is perhaps the longest list of motions I have ever seen in any conference. Even though the Indian Muslim community is not big, but their motions are long, even UMNO’s motions lose out to them,” he quipped.
He said that UMNO itself had a sizeable Indian Muslim membership, particularly in Penang, making up half of its membership.
Kimma conference crowd“Never in the history of UMNO have I seen its minutes written in Tamil,” Najib said in amusement.
He added that due to KIMMA’s unwavering support for the Barisan Nasional, he had never hesitated in granting funds it requested and urged them to help secure a strong majority for the ruling coalition.
“KIMMA has proven, without doubt, that it is a close and loyal partner of Barisan Nasional. Every time there is a general election or by-election, KIMMA has stepped up to give us undivided support and no doubt they will do so in the coming general election that may be called at any time.
KIMMA Tolong Gua, Gua Tolong KIMMA
“Gather the strength of the Indian Muslim community and work hard to ensure a big mandate for Barisan Nasional. If KIMMA gives undivided support to Barisan Nasional and UMNO, then it is appropriate for UMNO and Barisan Nasional to support KIMMA and consider what is due for the Indian Muslim community which has contributed much politically, economically, and socially,” he said
.ALAGANKULAM THASLEEM MOHAMED IBRAHIM WAS ASKED TO COMMENT ON SPECULATION TIPPING HIM AS A CANDIDATE FOR MENTERI BESAR IN HIS HOME STATE OF PERAK. BEFORE YOU ARE TO BE CONSIDERED AS A MENTERI BESAR MR. THASLEEM, CAN YOU PLEASE CONFIRM WHETHER YOU ARE AN INDIAN OR A MALAY? BEING THE LEADER OF NIAT , SEEMS TO SHOW THAT YOU ARE AN INDIAN FIRST.WE RESPECT YOU DEEPLY SIR, THEN THE GOOD FOR NOTHING MIC GOONS. PLEASE ACCEPT YOUR OFFER AS A CANDIDATE AND I’M SURE YOU’LL BE ABLE TO LEAD THE INDIAN COMMUNITY TO GREATER HEIGHTS. A GREAT MAN , ALL INDIANS MUST LOOK UP TO HIM & SAY THANKS FOR ALL HIS & HIS TEAMS EFFORTS. VAALGE THAMILAN.DATUK THASLEEM, CONTINUE THE GOOD SIR.MALAYSIA IS PROUD TO HAVE YOU AS A SON: ONE WHO IS NOT BLINDED BY BIGOTRY OR GREED; ONE WHO HAS THE MEANS TO SPEAK UP AND DOES SO ON BEHALF OF HIS FELLOW MAN WHO IS SUFFERING. YOU’RE A MAGNIFICENT EXAMPLE TO ALL MALAYSIANS AND TO ALL HUMAN BEINGS. YOU MAY NOT KNOW ME BUT I HAVE KNOWN YOU SINCE YOUR DAYS AS THE GENERAL MANAGER OF ELGI MARKA IN IPOH. I HAD ALWAYS ADMIRED YOU FOR YOUR OUTSPOKEN ATTITUDE EVEN AS A 22 YEAR OLD. YOU HAD IDEAS EVEN THEN AND I HAD ALWAYS TOLD MY FRIENDS THAT THIS GENTLEMAN HAD QUALITIES NOT MANY HAD. I HAVE ALWAYS TOLD FRIENDS THAT YOU WERE AN EXCELLENT SALESMAN FOR YOUR IDEAS HAD ALWAYS EXCITED ME. MANY YEARS HAVE GONE BY INFACT A GOOD 32 YEARS AND TODAY I READ ABOUT YOUR DEEDS AND COMMITMENT TO THE INDIAN COMMUNITY. YOUR SHORT SPEECH DURING A STAGE SHOW IN WISMA TUN SAMBANTHAN A FEW MONTHS AGO MUST BE HEARD BY ALL INDIANS IN MALAYSIA. THEN, AND ONLY THEN WILL THE INDIANS UNDERSTAND YOUR STAND AND VISIONS FOR THE COMMUNITY. GOOD JOB SIR. AS AN OLD FRIEND, I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST.WHERE HV YOU BEEN SIR? THERE IS LOST HOPE FOR MALAYSIAN INDIANS. DAP IS A DISMAL FAILURE FOR THEY LOVE PIGS MORE THAN INDIANS (RE:KEDAH). PAS WANT TO IMPLEMENT THE HUDUD LAW FOR ALL. PKR INFIGHTING IS A SHAM ON THE HUMAN DIGNITY. MIC OR BN, YOU KNOW THE STORY AND YET WE HAVE FEW SPARKS LEFT THAT LIT UP THE HEARTS OF WE FELLOW MALAYSIA INDIANS AND YOU ARE ONE OF THEM SIR. THASLEEM MOHD IBRAHIM’S DECISION NOT TO JOIN PAKATAN RAKYAT. HE SHOULD CONTINUE TO BE NON-PARTISAN AND CARRY ON WITH HIS EXCELLENT SOCIAL WORK. BUT I DO NOT QUITE AGREE WITH HIS VIEWS ON AFFIRMATIVE ACTION POLICY TO HELP THE INDIAN MALAYSIAN COMMUNITY. THE INDIAN COMMUNITY HAS BEEN LEFT TO THE MERCY OF LEADERS FROM BN FOR MORE THAN FOUR DECADES NOW. AND PR HAS BEEN ONLY FIGHTING “BUSH FIRES” IN THE COMMUNITY AND SO FAR HAS FAILED TO CONVINCE INDIAN MALAYSIANS THAT PR IS CAPABLE OF PROVIDING LONG-TERM PERMANENT SOLUTIONS TO THE COMMUNITY’S WOES. AFFIRMATIVE POLICIES THAT ONLY PROPAGATES HANDOUTS AND PATCHWORK REMEDIES WILL ONLY KEEP THE INDIAN MALAYSIAN COMMUNITY IN ITS VICIOUS CIRCLE OF SOCIAL ILLS. UMNO LEADERS IN BN AND THE MALAY LEADERS FROM PR SHOULD HAVE THE CONVICTION AND GUTS TO BREAK THE BARRIER OF RACE AND RELIGION AND ACCEPT INDIAN MALAYSIANS WITH RESPECT AND DIGNITY. UNTIL THEN, ANY AFFIRMATIVE POLICY TO HELP INDIAN MALAYSIANS CAN BE DESTINED TO THE DUSTBINS.THE ONLY WAY THE INDIAN WANT GET FAIR TREATMENT FROM GOVERNMENT IS CHANGE THE FEDERAL SYSTEM THAT IS CHANGE UMGNOK TO PAKATAN RAKYAT! THEY CONTROL OTHER PARTY AS WELL , THIS IS ACTUAL FACT AND DO NOT DENY IT! PROUD OF YOU THASLEEM .. YOU ARE A TRUE HUMAN BEING TRUE TO YOUR RELIGION. MANY IF NOT MOST INDIAN MUSLIMS IN THIS COUNTRY HAVE SOLD THEIR SOULS AND THEIR MOTHERS AND WIFES AND DAUGHTERS AND PORTRAY THEMSELVES AS MALAYS BY ADDING BIN AND BINTI TO THEIR NAMES FOR GETTING MONETRAY AND OTHER AIDS RESERVED FOR THE MALAYS. THEY CAN SELL HEIR RACE WHAT ELSE THEY WILL NOT SELL TO GET MORE MONIES AND PRIVILEGES.. THES ESO CALLED POOKIMANS AND POOKIMATHIS MUST BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES AND SHOULD PULL THEIR TONGUES OUT AND GO TO HELL IF THEY DONT REPENT BY REVERTING TO THEIR ORIGINAL RACE. AS A RAKYAT I THINK WE TOOK TOO LONG TO WAKE UP TO THE TYRANNY OF THE GOVERNMENT. THANKS TO WWW.WHEN THE ESTATES GOT SOLD THE GOVERNMENT DID NOT ADDRESS THE DISPLACEMENT OF THIS GENTLE PASSIVE PEOPLE. MIC IS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR PLIGHT BY BEING MUTE. BEING NOT EDUCATED STILL GUARANTEED WORK IN THE ESTATE. IN FACT TOO MUCH EDUCATION WORKED AGAINST THE SYSTEM.  IF WE ARE TRULY MATURED MALAYSIANS WE SHOULD HAVE AN ATTITUDE OF ‘ NO ONE LEFT BEHIND’. THASLEEM’S STAND REGARDLESS OF HIS PAST MUST BE AN EXAMPLE TO FOLLOW. TO SAY THAT IT’S HIS MUSLIM NATURE THAT MAKES HIM SO IS GROSSLY MISPLACED.  IF ONE LOOKS HARD AT MOST RELIGION YOU WILL FIND ITS SHARP EDGES POINTING TO A FELLOW HUMAN BEING. ISLAM IS NO EXCEPTION.  THE CASTE SYSTEM IS A GOOD IDEA GONE BAD LIKE THE NEP, IT WAS HIJACKED BY RELIGION. WE KNOW HOW THE NEP WAS HIJACKED AND NOW THREATENS TO BE LIKE UMNO MADE CASTE SYSTEM.  EVERY RACE HAS BIGOTS, THE ONLY WAY IS TO EVOLVE OUT OF IT AND THASLEEM’S EXAMPLE IS A GOOD START. A MALAY LIKE MAHATHIR WHO CAN EVEN BECOME A PRIME MINISTER AND BECOME WEALTHY INSTEAD OF SUFFERING AS AN INDIAN. AFTER ALL, YOU SHARE THE SAME ANCESTRY AS MAHATHIR SOCIETY IS ECONOMICALLY STRONG, OTHERS WILL FOLLOW THEM. WE HATED JAPAN FOR THE ATTROCITIES BUT TODAY THEY HAVE THE TECH AND ECONOMICALLY STRONG THAT WE LEARN THEIR LANGUAGE TO STUDY THERE. IN MALAYSIA, CHINESE HAVE THAT UPPER HAND IN ECONOMICS AND THEY DONT BOTHER OF OTHER RACES. EVERYONE INCLUDING THE BANKS BOW TO THEM LIKE BANKS HAVING CHINESE LANGUAGE IN THEIR ATMS. INDIANS ARE DOWN ECONOMICALLY, HOW CAN THEY FIGHT AND PROJECT THEMSELVES. INDIAN LEADERS ARE ONLY SELF SERVING IDIOTS. WE HAD PPN HOSTEL IN PJ FOR POOR INDIANS STUDYING IN UM OR KL TO LIVE THERE…WHAT HAPPENED? THEY SOLD IT OFF FOR PROFITS. HOW CAN THE SOCIETY IMPROVE WHEN INDIANS ARE NOT UNITED, SELF CENTRED, IGNORANT, ARROGANT ETC. HOW MANY INDIANS SPEAK TAMIL, KNOW THEIR CULTURE AND RELIGION FOR THAT MATTER? WHEN AN INDIAN IS WELL OFF, HE WILL NOT THINK OF HELPING HIS SOCIETY BACK…ANANDAKRISHNAN HELPS CHINESE BUT NOT INDIANS. ITS FUTILE TO TALK OF HELPING INDIANS WHEN THEY DONT WANT TO HELP THEMSELVES HI THASLEEM’S VIEWS ARE FAIR AND RIGHTEOUS. HIS PASSION FOR THE INDIAN COMMUNITY IS AS A RESULT OF HE HAVING UNDERGONE DIFFICULTY AND SUFFERING IN THE MALAYSIAN SCENE. ONE SHOULD NOT QUESTION OR DOUBT WHY AN INDIAN MUSLIM ( UNLIKE MAMAK MAHATHIR) IS CHAMPIONING THIS CAUSE NOT OTHER INDIAN HINDUS WHO ARE THE MAJORITY IN THE COUNTRY. IT IS TIME THAT ALL RACES FIRST THINK AS MALAYSIANS AND ADDRESS FAIRLY THE WOES OF THE DIFFERENT RACES IN POVERTY AND DEPRIVATION OF FACILITIES AND BENEFITS. THE POLICY MUST BE EGALITARIAN. IT MUST BE HUMANE AND IT MUST BE RIGHTEOUSNESS. THIS IS WHAT HJ THASLEEM IS ADVOCATING. HOPE PR WILL ULTIMATELY DO THIS JUSTICE FOR ALL RACES WHEN THE CHANGE TAKES PLACE. OR WE WILL CHANGE PR IN GE14. INDIANS DO NOT NEED AFFIRMATIVE ACTIONS. ALL THAT IS REQUIRED IS FAIR EXECUTION AND ENFORCEMENT OF OPPORTUNITIES BY THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DAY. TO DATE BN-MIC HAS FAILED. LET’S GIVE PR A CHANCE AND BE UNITED IN THIS EFFORTONE ASPECT OF YOUR MISUNDERSTANDING ABOUT HINDUISM AND THE CURSED CASTE SYSTEM. YES, CASTE IS PRACTICED AMONG THE HINDUS BUT IT IS A SOCIAL APPROACH AND DIVISION, STARTED WITH THE IDENTIFICATION OF PEOPLE BY THEIR PROFESSIONS, A DISGUSTING ONE BEYOND DIGNITY TO LOOK DOWN ON PEOPLE. HINDUISM BELIEVES LIKE OTHER RELIGIONS IN EQUALITY AND DIGNITY FOR ALL. IF I AM WRONG PLEASE CORRECT
This is nasi kandar mentality at work. If you are an efficient financial adviser to evil BN there are more ways than one to earn revenue without burdening the people. The problem is you only know the easy way out – corruption. Even your aide was caught for his corrupt ways – leadership by example, I suppose., Noor Mohamed, you need extra money to build infrastructure so that you and your goons can fatten your pocket linings and keep some in the slush funds only to be used during election campaigns to offer goodies for votes. What logic he has in declaring that “Slashing car prices will cause economic instability”. Sorry, I am too shallow to fathom your great thinking, Mamak Nor Mohamed Yakcop. Still wondering how you become a Minister too. An useless fake Malay giving his 2 sen worth.economic instability due to custom has no chance for side income + BN/crony go bankcrupt becos no AP income + no $$$ to buy votes during election. our brainless Finance minister refered no development in east malasysia. Simple soution for rafizi just up the oil royalty from East M to 15% u have the same effects. U mean USA/Canada/Australia/China don’t have 2nd hand car dealers in their country due to cheap car price?? Bottomline higher car price is just to protect BN+crony thats the perfect AAA answer to the justification!
Hei mamak what are you talking. Ask the ordinary people if they would prefer a cheap car or with taxes. They would surely go for tax free. This dum mamak has to the balls to to say otherwise. This is what we get after 53 years of freedom. Stupid fool. BN is so concern on taxes and excise duties for the cars, then they may as well do away with the AP. Why have 2 standards in taxes
The big difference between members of parliament of BN and PR is that in 2008 PR members are elected by mostly informed and urban voters who have accessed to updated, fair and foreign news and alternative media whilst BN members are voted by rural voters who have been denied such privileges. That is why BN ministers were uneducated.we choose to believe this guy, we must be equally sicked! UK didn’t save British Leyland bcos they were worry about Austin, Morris and other car dealers going bankrupt. UK didn’t bother about Jaguar and the Minis being taken over by Tata and BMW. Australia allowed Holden to fold up and taken over by Izuzu. By this guy’s reasoning, UK and Australia should have gone under? what did Adam Smith say? Each must only produce in what one can do best. Is our country best at producing cars?
What about gambling in the forex market? Did it destabilse our economy then?
It is the trading losses of BNM in 1990 amounting US$6.2 million that caused economic instability, not the withdrawal of excise duty on cars. The huge duty paid by Malaysians is causing a major distortion in the market. Imagine a guy buying a VIOS is getting a six year car loan to primarily finance the excise duty. Unlike Singapore which have space constraints, hence the need to limit the number of cars, Malaysia has no excuse to impose such gargantuan excise duty. In the modern age, a car is a necessity and the idea of imposing high taxes is way past its shelf life. I salute what PKR is proposing but transiting from the current situation to having low import duties on cars will be challenging. the national economy will sure be affected. No other extra sources of fund is available as all surpluses were long wasted or to be wasted through the stupid management of BN/UMNO. Few hundred million Euros will be wasted to one Euro because it was in the wrong hands. Whose money was that? Sure the hard-earned money of innocent Malaysians sucked through so called Direct & Indirect Taxes on cars they purchased.
The minister is desperately trying to defend the indefensible on two counts. First, infrastructure funds come from how taxes are distributed. The pet peeve Malaysians have against BN government is how a RM25 billion project can escalate to RM50billion, with RM25 billion going into powers that be’s and their family’s pockets. Why do you think we are seeing a sudden sprout of people driving Porche Cayennes, Bentleys and Brabus? Easy money, ill gotten on the backs of hard working, daily toiling Malaysians. Second, the only people that will go bankcrupt are those involved in the second hand market, and ilks like Proton, and I can tell you most of them are connected to UMNO. Really, the issue here is, do you want to save 1000 UMNOputras or save 28 million or so Malaysians in general from high interest rates, indebtedness to finance companies, and cars twice the price they are available elsewhere? a Sarawakian and wish to assure you Minister, that we Sarawakians will be too pleased if there is a decision to lower the price of the national car. There will not be instability, but prosperity. You are taxing the rakayat on The national car to protect your BN govt corrption. I will vote for PR this 13th GE!
Abolishing or reducing excise duty on cars will deny the government RM 7.0 Billion in taxes. But the benefit to each one of us is allmost 40% reduction in our car prices. Definately worth it. Right now the government collects RM 7.0 Billion and how much goes back to the rakyat in development? Hardly any, allmost everything is spent by Najib, Rosmah and their cronies….Correct? So it is better they don’t collect. I support Rafizi’s proposal 100%. Viva Pakatan
The problem with Umno ministers is that they are only good at plundering Rakyat hard earn money. Like this minister who lost billions in Forex trading. Come on la, days of you all cheating your way to squeeze us on the pretext of national interest are long gone and the Rakyat are not naive anymore. Even the new Custom DG is trying to play politics saying the taxes are good to built Hospital, schools etc. Can u show us how much the taxes money being spent on building hospitals and schools? How about the almost 1 Trillion Ringgit of illegal funds transfer of of country? How come no investigations done on this? You guys whack our money like no tomorrow yet you still want to deny us getting cheaper cars?
