Umno legal adviser Datuk Mohd Hafarizam Harun has suggested that the Internal Security Act (ISA) be invoked to deal with the controversy over the “ketuanan Melayu” (Malay supremacy) remark by PKR president Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

He described Dr Wan Azizah’s remark, calling for the notion of Malay supremacy to be abandoned, which she made at the party’s congress last Saturday, as a direct challenge to the

Barisan political parties in Malaysia are at the crossroads. So busy are they in mudslinging, intriguing and back-stabbing, that they have lost the sense of direction. So engrossed are they in digging up each other's misdeeds, they've forgotten to cover themselves with a fig leaf. So fragmented are they from within, they are struggling for survival. So cut off are they from ground realities, they remain blind to problems and expectations of the citizens.
What about the UMNO? It is running around in circles. It just doesn't know how to take advantage of the mess that Mahathir is in readmoreThe party is only hoping to benefit from P.K.R war of words and exposes. Unless it pulls up its socks, refurbishes its image, strengthens its grassroots, evolves good strategies, and wins back the trust of the people,The citizens are crying for a clean and efficient government, a proactive SarawakCM and hands-on ministers. The present crop at the helm just doesn’t inspire. its vote base is certain to erode further and reduce it to an 'also ran' like in GE12

Laws are meant UMNOPUTRASI who has virtually no say in the system, whether politically/ monetarily/ or physically.

In a country where the law makers are the biggest law breakers. Will or can there be a rule of Law?
There are many sons of Powerful people who are moving freely despite been convicted by the courts; Will that happen?
To obey or abide by the law: This is expecting too much from the privileged class.

yes in our country we cannot give equal status to every one and when the term equality comes then the so called vvips gets the major portion and least comes to other citizens. so when we are talking about equality every citizens should be same in the eyes of law not in writen rather in action and this changes can be possible if so called vvips will change their attitudes.

Absolutely correct.UNless and untill Our socalled leaders themselves exemplify with their own conduct there would not be any hope of improvement. But is it possible when we electthem on the basis of RACE or some other considerationother than merit,?

a truthful article. It is true in all aspects. Who can change? The people instead of being passive and fatalistic should be active and change the game the politicians play. They need not vote for the same leadership decade after decade. They need not vote for the same family. They need not be quiet and accept the corruption passively. If the people want a change they can protest en mass and bring changes. We people of Malaysia need not tolerate corruption, petty divisionist politics and bureaucracy. People have to raise their voice and say enough is enough and change the leadership. The games of dirty politics should be stopped.
At the end of the day its the people who elected the super citizens to power. The voting masses arnt powerless just dumb. Its naive to think that in a democracy the voters can be absolved of all responsibility.

Here is an interesting letter from a reader that TOI published: "Who can blame MALAYSIA for lacking competitive spirit? Now our businessmen are increasingly competitive: if one was corrupting the bureaucrats and politicians for, the other one does it better for 3G. Our politicians are catching up faster. Land is given away to relatives and friends in acres. In such an environment, can bureaucrats lag behind? If peons and attendants take money for 'chai', officers of the highest level take apartments in skyscrapers and deposits in Swiss banks. Competitive they are all, with a killer instinct, no doubt. The victims are the common people of IMALAY the Malay race." Absolutely right. Isn't it?

Datuk Najib the subject here is not ‘corruption’ is special privileges.we will defendi with ASSHOLE

I would like to comment on Umno leaders' outburst on the PKR's supreme leaders championing on the "Ketuanan Rakyat" concept against "Ketuanan Melayu". Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Nazri Aziz said that "Ketuanan Melayu" is meant to protect the sovereignty of the Malay Rulers. I beg to differ strongly on his view. I am commenting his statement in the news portal The Malaysian Insider made on Dec 2nd. As far as I am concerned, the monarch should not be involved with any politicking as it seen in the Perak fiasco because as a democratic country, separation of power does exist between the legislature and the executives.

Also there are limitations to the powers of a monarch. Nazri continued by saying that those who believed in the "Ketuanan Rakyat" concept have a cow dung factory in their brains.

With due respect Nazri, you are totally wrong even though you are a lawyer and you are in politics. Malays' rights are never to be compromised under the concept of "Ketuanan Rakyat" because we believe strongly in our constitution and hold it dear in our hearts and souls. How could I respect or even be confident with the Malay rulers in protecting the Malays rights if the sultans are not even practicing the culture and norms of a Malay person?

They are practicing westernised cultures and seem to forget their fundamental roots as a Malay Muslim. I'm not referring to all the rulers but a majority of them. I shall not reveal more on their behaviour because the public are not blind and can see it for themselves. How could they even be the heads of Islam in the country when they don't even practice the way Islam the way it should be practiced? Nazri said that the prime minister or menteri besar would not be allowed to dissolve the Parliament or the state assembly without the consent of the king or sultan.

This is totally outrageous because by right, the sultans cannot interfere in state and federal matters as well as making judgments on the selection of CMs and MBs.

This is because this may cause a serious conflict of interest between them and the true mandate given by the voters who have chosen their leaders. The agong must act on the advice of the prime minister and not on his own will. Whether he gives consent or not that is a totally different matter because the Agong is only acting as a symbol of monarchy by Parliament and he cannot refuse the decision of the prime minister by law. So my dear government of the day; please stop disuniting and creating racial tension between the Malays and the other races. We will never repeat the dark incident of May 13 again. Never.

So stop playing your primitive and barbaric racial cards. I will fight to the end to ensure that a harmonious and united Malaysia is created under the concept of "masyarakat majmuk", also known as "ketuanan rakyat".
