Another wolf another time what is your agenda drrafick@gmail.com? display of contempt for jurisprudence and human rights,

In a shocking display of contempt for jurisprudence and human rights, Iran has executed 63-year-old Ali Saremi -- a political dissident since 1979 who spent a total of 24 years in prison, and was hanged on December 28 for "waging war against God". Many European nations have already condemned this brutality, but so far the U.S. government has remained silent. Coincidentally, a major symposium on Iran was held in Paris last week, featuring an impressive line-up of American and European dignitaries who were pleading for the U.S. to remove MEK (also known as PMOI) from its list of terrorist organizations. Saremi was a member of that group, which has been struggling for several decades to bring a democratic government to Iran.
You've never heard of MEK? No wonder. It represents a large group of Iranian dissidents, the Mujahadeen. They opposed the egomaniacal shah, Reza Pahlavi; they opposed the religious fanatic, Ayatollah Khomeini; and they oppose the current leader, the nuclear-crazed Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
MEK's charismatic spokeswoman is 57-year-old Maryam Radjavi, who lives in France and has the backing of numerous European officials and parliamentarians. She spoke to a cheering crowd at the symposium, along with Rudolph Giuliani and several former Bush officials -- Michael Mukasey, Tom Ridge, Frances Townsend -- who denounced the ongoing American policy that demonizes the dissidents and thereby mollifies the repressive Ahmadinejad regime. About 3,500 exiled Mujahadeen live in a community in Iraq called Ashraf, about 70 miles west of the Iranian border and 40 miles north of Baghdad. It is also called Camp Ashraf, because of its insularity, and its precarious and dangerous existence. (Ali Saremi visited his son there, in 2007 -- another charge against him.)
In 2003, American forces invading Iraq took control of Ashraf, disarmed the MEK members, screened them for past terrorist acts, and assumed maintenance of the facility. This provided a certain degree of security, even though Washington kept MEK on its "terrorist" list, as it had been for three decades -- always with the intention of appeasing Iranian regimes by discrediting the dissident movement.
With the American forces now pulling out of Iraq, Baghdad is claiming control of the camp. This will seriously endanger the people of Ashraf, who are already being attacked by Iraqi military and paramilitary units, and who are being blasted night and day by blaring loudspeakers urging them to surrender to Tehran. It is clear that Iraqi authorities are acting in conjunction with the Iranian regime to suppress, or eliminate, these dissidents. If they are sent back to Iran, they will surely be arrested, and possibly tortured and killed, as were many protesters after the last Iranian elections.
Allan Gerson, a Washington-based lawyer who has represented victims of terrorism and human rights abuses, insists that MEK must be removed from America's terror list, and that these Iranian dissidents "must be supported, not shackled, in their struggle for a democratic Iran." It is a disgraceful and morally reprehensible policy, he says, that essentially appeases the Ahmadinejad regime, and blocks the possibility of bringing democracy to Iran. Does America have the guts, and the integrity, to finally help these people? Or are we going to continue to play poker with Ahmadinejad, bluffing our way into a deadly showdown?

Keith Olbermann is anything but hesitant when it comes to a battle with Fox News, and the MSNBC anchor took to Twitter Wednesday to share his views on the TV network he probably wouldn't even call a rival.
"Fox News is 100% bullshit," Olbermanntweeted several times Wednesday.
Olbermann also specifically directed comments at his 8PM competitor, Fox News' Bill O'Reilly.
"I don't have as much hate or as many lies in me as O'Reilly," he tweeted.
One Twitter user, William R. Dickson, tweeted back at Olbermann with the following, which he retweeted to his 169,000-plus followers:
"Surely not 100%. Surely it is a rich blend of manure from a wide variety of farm animals."

"BELIEVE NOTHING, NO MATTER WHERE YOU READ IT OR WHO HAS SAID IT, NOT EVEN IF I HAVE SAID IT, UNLESS IT AGREES WITH YOUR OWN REASON AND YOUR OWN COMMON SENSE."

BN MAKING PEOPLE HATES THEM!

  1. I believe the regular readers of my blog, would have sensed that off late my write up has been more accommodating in defending BN and whatever they have been doing. That is my character. If you do good I say you do good but if you do bad, I will scorn you. I have criticized PR quite a fair bit because of the party polls fiasco. I got myself closer to the BN folks in the process. Like millions of others in this country, I am fed up with the unfinished politicking in this country especially when it comes to petty issues which are aimed at scoring political mileage and not focusing on the people.

  2. My researched on Gapurna/Puncak Wangi/Azmin Ali shows me how dirty Malaysian politics are. It is my conclusion that FMT was used by AA recent enemies from the heart of Damansara to tear him down. That case actually straightens my thinking a fair bit. I have decided that I will not join politics and will remain as an NGO to championed people issues. I don’t have the necessary skills to be a politician in Malaysia.

  3. Since the issue of the appointment of Selangor SS was highlighted, I sensed a strong Déjà vu of the Perak episode recurring here in Selangor. The many legal eagles who have been giving their comments about the issue in my blog have their own view. I am not a lawyer but I appreciation of the issue of law is simple. From the moral and constitutional point of view, I am clear in my mind the current Perak government is illegal. The former MB loss of support has not been established in the state assembly and Sultan has acted beyond his powers under the law. I have no doubt about that and for that reason my banner remains black.

  4. This morning, I was shocked to read that the Selangor Palace has sent out invitations to Kushrin appointment as the SS which is to be witnessed by the Sultan. The yearend shocking news shows how the palace has interfered in the administration of the State. The people interest has been placed secondary and no respect has been given to the due process and the laws. The law is clear that the SS is to be sworn in by the MB and not the Sultan. The Sultan is interfering in the administrative process.

  5. In my mind, the Selangor palace has gone overboard with their actions. It is not much different than in Perak and these two royals has initiated dangerous precedents which threaten the long term survival of the monarchy system in Malaysia. Now I begin to appreciate why Mahathir took steps to control the monarch. The monarch failed to take into account that BN may not rule this nation for ever. It takes an endorsement in the State Assembly and change in constitution to further limit their powers. Mahathir has given the people the unobstructed path to the legislators just to do that. One wrong move, I sensed that if PR wins the next GE, the powers of the Sultan will be further defined. There will be a long list on what they cannot do!

  6. The law clearly states that the SS swearing in to be done by the MB and not by anyone else. I guess what will happened is that the palace will invite Khalid to the event and automatically Khalid presence can be interpreted that the MB was present during the swearing in of the SS and therefore it is legal. His failure to attend will played by the media as disrespecting the Sultan. It is a catch 22 position. Maybe the MB should consider falling sick and get himself hospitalized on that day?

  7. Right now, the short sighted move by BN is damaging all the good work that Najib does. Perception index on Najib has improved in certain segment of the society. I guess APCO people have done their homework in forecasting the outcome and preparing a counter strategy in controlling the damage. They must have done the scenario planning and comes out with plan A, B, C etc. I am watching the development of the SS closely. If Kushrin does get appointed and sworn in by the Sultan than BN will lose my vote. Maybe the Sultan should step down from the throne and consider a fulltime political career.
