Zaid takes six-month leave, cracks in PKR?
Habib RAK: PKR needs both Azmin Ali and Zaid Ibrahim. The party is a growing organisation and soon it will be ruling at the federal level. Azmin is a key player in developing PKR to an amazing level. Zaid, as a newcomer, plays a different role but an important one.
Both have their own strength to contribute to the party. I hope Anwar Ibrahim will be able to convince both to see the bigger picture. Stay united guys... we still have a long way to go.
Gem: Azmin is showing his territorial and defensive nature, therefore Anwar asked Zaid not to go (to Sabah) because he doesn't want relations to worsen. But Zaid is going because an invitation was extended to him, and he saw no reason why he cannot go to Sabah just because he has to take care of Azmin's feeling.
All these goes to show that even within PKR, they cannot work together. How do you expect the three Pakatan Rakyat parties to work together?
Clear Soul: Zaid, you are one of the most respected figure in PKR. Who in history would ever be so bold to let go the luxury life of a minister in the government of the day and join the opposition? Do not be troubled by those who has never ever been there and now dreaming so much to be there in the next general election.
I do not believe in the mainstream newspapers but my own involvement in PKR recently really open up my eyes. To my horror, some of the nasty things that the mainstream newspapers reported are actually true.
I am beginning to wonder if PKR or Pakatan is ready to take over the government. By attacking BN, I think Pakatan is just being a coward. The rakyat want to see what the opposition can contribute to the society and the nation. So show us what you can do in the states which are under your control.
Henry Basil S Joseph Xavier: This controversy of Azmin vs Zaid is the work of corrupt members within PKR. I am still waiting for Anwar Ibrahim to comment and put to rest what has been splashed in the news.
If he doesn't step in, the issue will get bigger and knowing Zaid, he will quit PKR and continue with his work of building a unified Malaysia. PKR has everything to lose. This again clearly demonstrates that there are many Umno rejects in PKR whose sole purpose is to profit themselves.
This is the biggest hurdle Anwar has to overcome if PKR is to broker a sustainable Pakatan with PAS and DAP.
Ahmad Kamal: PKR must think about nation-building as a priority. If that means cleaning up the house, do that quickly. Anwar has his 'good buddies' who will stick with him through thick and thin like Azmin, who may not have a good public image.
The rakyat wants to see how Anwar deals with his cronies who are not performing. They may do anything for Anwar but are they doing things that is going to make a difference to the party, Pakatan and the future of democracy?
Let's hope that the rest of the bigwigs in PKR help Anwar towards a better governance of the party. If Zaid is the man, give him support. If that means taking Azmin out and cold-storaging him, do that. The rakyat tak mudah lupa...
Its easy to afix labels on our peoples, but will our 3rd class politicians once again over-promise and under-deliver ?
Until the law, policy, and enforcement jointly deliver equal rights, entitlement, and opportunity - our '1Malaysia' slogan will remain just a useless distraction geared to manage our peoples perceptions.
These UMNOs Malays are not only born without ' backbone ' but will also pretend to lose their tongues when asked to make give a comment or proper reasoning.
These bumiputra immigrants don't even know the meaning of ' corrupted or shameless ' unless you explain to these ' ketuanan ' leeches or parasites of the nation in Bahasa Melayu !And mind you ..they preferably wants to compete globally with Bahasa Melayu, according to that Pelajaran Minister or piece of cow dung,Najib is one smart cookie and whoever is his political advisor, is one hell of a smarter ass. They have stripped apart the people's minds and know that we all are screaming for fairness and a true 1 Malaysia. Thus with his suave oratorical skills, he has beewn spewing out the sweetest of promises to us all. In fact, a lot of my friends who are staunch anti establishment are now pausing in their tracks wondering whether Najib is for real.Mr.Lim Kit Siang has hit the nail to demand that our prime minister must put Malaysians FIRST and our country must be 'race' free. Start by abolishing special rights only to the Malays. Remember, we want REAL MERITOCRACY. Then we can start talking, Mr.Prime Minister.Cheap empty sloganeering is not helpful for malaysiansthe 1Malaysia liar and corrupted murderer, Najis C4 who now strongly claims that the ethnic Malays are retarded people in Malaysia and should be given crutches to stand right and proper.

He can join UMNO but remember the seat he won was based on PAS ticket. If he still has any dignity left he should resign from the parliamentary seat so a frest election can be held to determine who the people of Pasir Mas really want.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 - Umno leaders took advantage yesterday of the problems which have surfaced in PKR this week over the role of Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, by slamming the opposition party for being fractured and having no proper succession plan.
“I don’t know what reasons Zaid gave but his decision indicates that there are very serious internal problems in PKR,” said Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin.
He accused PKR of only looking after the interests of its de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“There is no leader who is being groomed in PKR to succeed Anwar. Zaid was seen as a threat by PKR officials like Azmin Ali and I think that’s why he left.”
In contrast, he feels that Umno has a very good policy of looking after up-and-coming leaders.
“Barisan National looks after its own,” explained the Umno Youth chief.
Khairy’s remarks were echoed by Umno vice president Datuk Shafie Apdal.
“There must be some reason why people would take leave for six months.

There is no firm structure in PKR and Pakatan Rakyat. It is a loose cooperation,” said Shafie, when commenting on Zaid’s announcement this week that he would be taking six months leave from party activities.
He also said that it was hard for a party to be taken seriously when people can just ‘come in and out’ of the party.
Zaid’s leave from PKR is seen as an indicator that all is not well with the opposition party with cracks slowly beginning to emerge.
He has played down the issue that there is reportedly a rift between him and the other members of PKR given their different styles of running the political party.
The former Umno man had been given the task by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of crafting a common platform for the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalition to take into the next general election, with a focus towards Putrajaya.
– Pasir Mas member of parliament Datuk Paduka Ibrahim Ali is keeping his options open on the possibility of him rejoining Umno.
He said he might do so if the party could successfully translate the change outlined by its leadership.
“If the party successfully translates the change demanded by the president and deputy president, I may be keen to be with Umno but not in the near future,” he told Bernama when contacted.
Saying that he had never been a PAS member, Ibrahim, an independent MP, said he was drawn towards Umno of late following the leadership change in the party and because the party had shown its determination to safeguard the interest of the Malays.
Ibrahim became an Umno member in 1981 but was sacked from the party for contesting as an independent candidate in the 2004 general election.
He likened Umno to a party which was unwell.
“However, it has found the medicine for its illness. The only thing is whether the party will take the medicine and take it according to the prescription,” he said. – Bernama
