There must have been a strong reason why PKR president Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail is keeping mum on the appointment of Azmin Ali as the Sabah party chief, Umno supreme council member Datuk Dr Puad Zarkashi said.

He said PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim must have given special treatment to the party vice-president.

“I believe she knows why. I wonder why instead of the party president (Wan Azizah), Anwar is given the power to choose the state chief,” he said in a phone interview yesterday.

Dr Puad pointed out that Anwar had a “bad experience” with his former close allies such as Ezam Mohd Nor and Datuk K.S. Nalla- karupan hence he could not afford to lose Azmin.

“Anwar does not care that the appointment is creating a faction in Sabah,” he added.

Recently, Nallakarupan had claim- ed there was a “secret” as to why Azmin was special to Anwar.

He added that it was time the “secret” over why Azmin is special to Anwar was revealed but he would give the party adviser or his wife the chance to spill the beans.

“Otherwise, I will,” he was reported as saying.
