Anwar’s obsession with demonising Najib is urgent. For starters, it has dawned on some enlightened ones within the Opposition that Anwar can’t wrest the Federal Government in a legitimate battle in the polls.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is excruciatingly obsessed with Datuk Seri Najib Razak, the pretender Prime Minister-in-waiting keeping antagonistic tabs on the genuine Prime Minister-designate. After guzzling the
PRIME MINISTER IN WAITING NAJIB
Is this the man?
The custodian of the dying ember?
The man who generations to come will remember as the last man standing, before the new dawn set in?
OR
Is this the man who is going to set in an even more harsh regime?
To ensure he and his team will have a long run on the nation?
Driven by chauvinism, and detested by the international as well as the domestic society?
Is this the start of a dynasty in the Malaysian Public Life?
Does this mean that we Malaysians are so incapable that we need a select few families to tell us how to live our lives?
Are we so dependent that all aspects of our lives need to be controlled?
Are we so handicapped that we need these political dynasties to teach how to interact with each other?
CAN WE THE MALAYSIAN PEOPLE RISE TO THE OCCASSION WHEN THE NATION NEEDS US?
CAN MALAYSIA DEPEND ON US?
Dr Mahathir’s autocratic, said those who engaged in money politics in UMNO should be arrested under the ISA. Oh Please do that. No better way to make UMNO more popular among the warlords. AND the first one they would have to arrest who be him being the Father of Money Politics or more popularly known Mr. Ten Percent..we must first put najib in.Umno divisional election nominations to win the party presidency uncontested,(MONEY POLITICS ) Najib is now forced to endure screaming volleys of epithets, the latest that he will foster a dictatorial regime once he takes office.HOW HONEST IS, HE ADMITTED HE SENT THOSE SMS THE HIS LAWYER.
WHY Razak Baginda, the fall guy, with no further obstacles or hindrances in sight for Najis in his ascending to the Top Power, has now been released??? The real murderers whose identities are obvious but are still at large, with RPK detained under ISA but just released and PI Balasundram exiled overseas there are no other major obstacles and hindrances to Najis’ ascendancy to the pinnacle of his power come March 2009. This is only obvious that UMNO has now the final say in justice with their man Zaki as the Chief Justice. This is the obvious Justice of Malaysia, the laughing stock of the whole world, Malaysia should be boycotted by the world communities for their greatest injustices towards human rights and common normal justices. THIS IS MALAYSIA’S MALAY SUPREMACY AT ALL COSTS BUT GOING DOWN THE SEWERS WITH NARJIS, THE NEW PRIME MINISTER IN WAITING AFTER THE 51ST YEAR OF INDEPENDENCE.
Now who would want to accuse Najib of such despicable foreboding even before he had a chance to sniff the real powers of Premiership, if not from Anwar, who lashed out at Najib and complained that if he “comes into the picture, everything WIll be clamped down.” Addressing the media in Parliament yesterday
Najib assumes a tad of dictatorship in the realm of Dr Mahathir’s autocratic style. Malaysians, whether they like to admit it or not, need this kind of firm father figure discipline, seeing how badly behaved most of us are. We get wrecked into 6,000-odd fatal accidents annually; we refuse to follow traffic rules or switch our cell phones in theatres, or behave decently in Parliament, what with vicious and vulgar name-calling, hoots and jeers being the order of some days. i for Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who during his 22 years in the PM’s office had brooked his fair share of unflattering epithets, chief among them “dictator”, and chief amonghis detractors was Anwar. After his sacking from Government and during his correction years, Anwar invested time, effort, money and legal fees to unleash one railing rhetoric after another against Dr Mahathir that in some measure, succeeded in blackening the ex-PM’s image but his reputation, especially in Japan and African and Middle East nations remain sterling.
A dictator in the real sense Dr Mahathir was not, at least not in the realm of the abovementioned gallery of villainy, but a benevolent autocrat he certainly was, marshalling and goading the Malaysian masses into great self-confidence and self-pride to take on the world while whipping everyone at home – the rogues, the whiners, the desperados, the beggars, the backstabbers, the recalcitrants, and the ingratiaters – into fighting shape. Without Dr Mahathir’s prying, Malaysian politics would have degenerated into back-alley catfights of political tribalism dominated by ego-driven overlords and self-styled warlords. He still did not full succeed. If because of these aspects that deemed Dr Mahathir as a dictator, he’d probably take it with a wholesome chuckle.

Doomsday
EVER since the country was served notice that Sept 16 would be doomsday for the government, speculation about who is going to cross the party line, and when and where that will take place, have become a ritual. The text messages that have been making the rounds in recent days have been as predictable as the tedious reiteration that the modus operandi and deadline for bringing down the government remain unchanged. But as wearisomely repetitious as the rumors and the countdown are, there is no mistaking how dangerously twisted the Machiavellian machinations to unseat a legitimate government have become.
When defections are engineered to bring a duly-elected government down to its knees, it is not only a political coup d’etat against the government of the day but also against the majority of the people who voted it into power. Nothing justifies the employment of means which ride roughshod over the majority principle in a parliamentary democracy. When elected representatives act unilaterally to switch loyalties without so much as a by-your-leave from the people who put them in power, it smacks of rank political opportunism. While it is arrogant in the extreme for politicians to treat voters with so little respect, the bitter irony is that the attack on the most basic democratic principles has been perpetrated in the name of change by a political party that says it is committed to democracy. Those who have been most vocal about the lack of transparency, accountability and integrity in governance have also been conspicuously silent on the cloak-and-dagger back room dealing. Some defenders of the rule of law have been deafeningly mute over the attempt to hijack the Constitution. As if to seal the stamp of expediency, the partners in the opposition alliance have treated the open defiance of acceptable democratic practices with a smug shrug.
This is neither the fresh winds of change nor the brand new politics the voters have bargained for. A political party that seeks power through dubious means does not act in good faith. The political atmosphere has been poisoned because of what appears to be the intent to make the country ungovernable. The situation is unsettling and does little to assuage concerns and confidence. It is time for democrats of all colors to distance themselves from the attempt to subvert the right to govern which the majority party in parliament could claim a mandate. There is a need to send a clarion call to all members of Parliament to honor the verdict of March 8.

Anwar should not even if he could
by P. Gunasegaram
EVEN if Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim can live up to his boast that he will topple the government on Sept 16 – we seriously doubt that because if he had the numbers, he would have already – he really, really should not.
He must accept the people’s verdict. If he wants to gain power, he must do it the straight and correct way, keeping alive both the spirit and the letter of the Constitution – at the polls. Anything else is underhand and shows he has not changed enough.
If he goes ahead, it will be morally repugnant, and will lead to an endless cycle of defections and re-defections which will further destabilise the already volatile political scenario. An excessive predilection with politics will come at the expense of other things that government must do and will cost the country dearly.
The figures show that it is not impossible for Anwar to do the unthinkable. There are 25 parliamentary seats in Sabah and 31 in Sarawak and only one from each state is in opposition hands. Anwar has said that if he comes to power, he will give these states an oil royalty of 20% against 5% currently. There are other dissatisfied MPs in the peninsula who would cross over for the right price, even if it is not money.
If 13 MPs from Sabah, 10 from Sarawak and seven from the peninsula crossed over, Anwar would have his 30. But at what price? Are these MPs crossing because they honestly believe in Pakatan Rakyat and its concepts? Money is not the only corrupting influence, power is too. And with power you can make money.
What assurance is there that if they cross to Pakatan, they won’t go back to Barisan Nasional for the right incentives? Is it not more than likely that the Perak state government, where Pakatan has a slender two-seat majority, won’t collapse when a government with a majority of 58 seats, just eight short of two thirds, can?
If Peninsular Malaysians have utter disdain for their politicians, multiply that by 10 for Sabahans and Sabah politicians. Such is the situation in Sabah that nobody but nobody believes that any politician there acts in the interest of the public. The name of the game is self-interest. Ditto for Sarawak.
Are these the kind of people that Anwar wants to populate the ranks of the Pakatan leadership after the change?
Are these the kind of leaders who would lead the charge against corruption, patronage and nepotism?
What kind of a message would he be sending?
It would be the same old game all over again – the rape and pillage of Sabah and Sarawak. Unbelievably, Sabah is the poorest state in Malaysia (one in five Sabahans is poor), Sarawak not much better. How could that be with so much land, resources and so few (relatively) people? The answer: corruption.
Anwar, will you be helping the people if you put 20% of the oil revenue of these states into the hands of these politicians as you have said you will if you came into power with their help?
You, Anwar, have to become part of the change that you so much want to bring. You can’t be espousing high moral standards and then go out and do something dirty and devious to unseat the government. Your Pakatan now controls five states – show us what you can do with the mandate the people have given you.
With a machinery much smaller than Barisan’s, Pakatan gained major footholds throughout the peninsula. Anwar’s Keadilan itself came back from the brink of extinction with just one seat to become the largest single opposition party with 31 seats. Many political novices were elected just because they were on an opposition ticket.
That happened only because the public clamoured for a major change.
If Pakatan wants to spread its influence to Sabah and Sarawak, let it plant the seeds there now and bring the desired change at the polls.
And if Pakatan gets down to work, really honest work – weeding out corruption, bringing in efficiency, having open tenders etc – Barisan will have to follow or be demolished utterly at the next polls.
But if Anwar topples the government or even continues to threaten to do so, he will be short-circuiting the process and preventing all the changes that the public want.
History will judge him harshly if he does.
Yes, it’s tough for Anwar when there is so much resistance to his political return and there are battles to fight on several fronts. But arguably, the legal system will give him a much better chance now. Not to fight according to his stated principles is to give up the fight itself – he will become the enemy he so abhors.
There is a way out if all political parties come to their senses if only for a while: support a simple piece of legislation – any elected representative automatically vacates his seat if he leaves the party on whose platform he was elected. Then, the will of the people will be maintained and if someone wants to change that he will need to seek a fresh mandate from those he represents.
And finally, everyone can go to work running their state governments and the federal government properly.
If they don’t, they will risk losing their mandates in the next polls because for the first time in Malaysia, there is an alternative.

BARADAN ACCUSES OUR PM USING DSAI TO SCARE UMNO INTO SUBMITION
Pak Lah's departure may spell trouble for Anwar
ANALYSIS
By Baradan Kuppusamy
SEPT 28 - With Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi eclipsed, his deputy Datuk Seri Najib Razak on the rise and the Umno succession dispute all but settled, it is tough times ahead for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the erstwhile prime minister-in-waiting.While meeting fund managers In Hong Kong on Thursday Anwar put up a brave front to questions on whether it is troubling him with Najib set to get the job he craves and whether the leadership transition in Umno means a strong and united Umno training its guns on him."No," Anwar told them. "In fact the changes makes it easier for me…nothing really has changed because the corrupt system remains, the cronyism remains and race and discrimination remains."He went on to thrash Najib, attempting to link him to unexplained and unanswered questions over the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu, the Mongolian woman who was blown up into pieces in late 2006 with C4 explosives.Anwar also linked Najib with alleged "shady deals" involving multi-billion defence contracts and his inability to reform the corrupt system or give Malaysians a new hope of the future.
However after a string of successes, the political landscape is changing and turning hostile for Anwar.
His plans to seize power have been killed in its infancy, and his allies DAP and PAS have got over the mesmerising effect of the Anwar-charm offensive and are now. Openly dragging their feet.Worst is a potentially debilitating sodomy trial, that will sap his energy, create distance between him and PAS and DAP and raising fresh questions about his ability and suitability to lead a nation from the docks. On the deadline to seize power, Anwar has also changed course disappointing his legions of supporters and alienating fence sitters. "It is not an issue of deadlines any more…I urge Malaysians who believe in change to be patient."
Whether he has the numbers or not however will be tested, when Parliament reconvenes, on Oct 13, to debate and approve the 2009 budget. If he has the numbers as he claims to have he can easily kill the budget and demonstrate to the world that he really has majority support in the 222-seat parliament. The budget of 24 ministries have to be debated and approved and if he can kill any one of the ministries' budgets, that would be a successful vote of no-confidence against Abdullah and the BN government.
"He has 24 chances to do it," said Dewan deputy Speaker Tank in Kuching on Saturday virtually throwing the gauntlet to Anwar. However on Oct 7 Session Court judge Komathy Suppiah will rule whether to hear the Sodomy II case or transfer it to the High Court as the prosecutors want.
There is no real issue here because a transfer is an established procedure and even if she refuses, which is really going against established norm, the government can always appeal her decision and probably have it reversed.
A higher court can reverse, her decision on appeal, if necessary, even on the same day.Anwar's lawyers have argued that the transfer was signed by Attorney-General Ghani Patail whom Anwar is suing for fabricating evidence in the 1999 sodomy case which saw him imprisoned for six years for corruption. In 2000 Anwar was jailed an additional nine years for sodomy but the conviction was quashed in 2004 and he was freed after serving six years altogether. Meanwhile, the political ground is slipping under Anwar with the changes in Umno's leadership and by extension that of the country.Abdullah had been kindest to Anwar among the top Umno leaders.Abdullah, who had also tried to use him to scare Umno into submission, is leaving for good having to make an announcement before Oct 9 whether he is offering himself to contest as Umno president. I was also Abdullah who Anwar had hoped to confound and stampede into handing over the government to him by triggering a mass exodus, a harebrained scheme that has since died under the weight of its own implausibility.
That small window for Anwar - Abdullah's willingness to play by the rules, an inherent sense of justice and fair play - has closed with the PrimeMinister'simpendingdeparture leaving Anwar without a "friend."Anwar could have inadvertently hastened Abdullah's departure after his Information chief Tian Chua claimed Anwar and Abdullah were meeting behind the scenes to discuss a transfer of power, something that Umno veterans feared the most.Anwar had to rubbish Chua's statement immediately but it did not help when the Umno supreme council met a day later to decide on the transition.
Abdullah's departure leaves Anwar facing the brute force of power and real politics exposed without his breastplate as the old forces that ousted him in 1998 and benefited from the political vacuum he left behind, now gather once again to stop his march to power.
While Anwar's troubles are set to mount in the power game, public perception and support for him remains strong. He is continued to be seen as the best future leader for a new Malaysia. However the most recent poll by the Merdeka Center also shows that the racial divide between Malays and non-Malays is wider and widening with more Malays backing Umno and Najib on one side and more Chinese and Indians backing Anwar and the Pakatan coalition on the other.A very dangerous sign in a multi-ethnic society already widely divided over race, religion and discriminatory policies. The poll based on 1,002 people showed that 39.3 per cent supported Anwar and 33.8 per cent backed Najib. While about 40% of those polled supported Anwar but the remaining 60% were either not in favour, undecided or marked as "don't know" - a rather high percentage compared to the 70% or more support from non-Malays he had received on March 8.
If these figures are to be accepted it means the non-Malay support for Anwar is sliding.
His constant attempts at grabbing power are causing instability, uncertainties and people, especially the middle class, tend to worry.
For now Anwar has eased off on his "take over" games and for the future he should reaslise that the March 8 vote was for change and not a personal vote for Anwar or an endorsement of his frolics. He leads a coalition that rules five big states and he should work at change there to win public confidence and not be carried away by his own rhetoric.
Dear Mr. Kuppaisamy Baradan , U said he put a brave front to the strong and united UMNO training its gun on him.People who’s mind are block by dirt, will analysis the way U did.
