Off the Sidelines and Onto the battle Field:The End of Barisan Crooks?Rare Tornado Shocks

Aren’t we facing the same choices American faced in 1994?
Can you spot the tribespersons? They think as Chinese, Indian, Kadazan or Malay first.
Can you spot the idiots? Their chief concerns are themselves, their families, their associates.
Can you spot the good citizens? They are the protesters, activists and relentless conversationists. They put the common good first and respect the rights of those they oppose.
Why am I so disgusted with the Barisan Nasional Government?
I’m disgusted because I think BN’s vision is a nation of tribespeople “living together” to avoid repression and incarceration by the government.
I’m disgusted because I think BN is composed of idiots whose goal is personal enrichment, achieved through trampling the honour and rights of others.
I’m disgusted because when I try daily to be a good citizen, the evil I see in myself is seen most clearly in BN.
I’m just as disgusted with PR when they exhibit the same behaviour as BN. Be warned. Many Malaysians, like me, have woken up to what citizenship means.

CEO of iFixit, an online repair community, recently made a statement that can invite censure in these modern times. Writing in the Harvard Business Review blog, he explained in much detail why he won't hire people who use poor grammar, saying he has zero tolerance to grammatical errors in job applications. To give an example, he said: "If you think a semicolon is a regular colon with an identity crisis, I will not hire you."

Najib should  clarify his own position on whether there is a need for Bafia to protect the privacy of people who consistently engage in corruption and money laundering.Save us the rhetoric, PM. A distinction must be made whether the disclosures are for personal gain or in this case in public interests - to show the abuse of public funds in the NFC (National Feedlot Corporation) scandal.
Najib is trying to defend the use of Bafia against the whistleblowers is absolutely nonsensical at best, rubbish at worse.

for any government to be in power and Najib Tun Razak going to the voters  will surely have to battle a strong anti incumbency. 'Aiding' PAKATAN however will be, yes, the UMNO-BARISAN which has been at the stumps in PUTRA JAYA at the head of a coalition 50 years. UMNO has its own anti-incumbency and the battle for MAHAYHIRISMlater this year will be the battle of two anti- incumbencies. It has to seen whose anti incumbency is higher - ANWAR the master strategist will go out of the way to drum up the anti incumbency effect of the central government. This may not be too difficult a task, but increasingly now ANWAR is getting SUPPORT from the masses. " a strong support base but many feel that he has become the OPPOSITIONLEADER. That unqualified adulation for him among the UMNOPUTRAS and sections of the masses is not there any more," says a seasoned political analyst.

, a movement set up by Wilfred Bumburing and Lajim Ukin, and aligned to the Pakatan Rakyat led by Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, to fight for change in the poverty-stricken East Malaysian state. has walked out of the  BARISAN that he brought to power in SABAH. Common wisdom is that post eighty years of age,  ability to be a spoiler forUMNO is not discounted. This is the reason why the central UMNO representatives in PUTRA JAYA are alarmed. "He will add to the anti incumbency against NAJIB and if he makes a marginal difference in 10-15 seats the BARISAN will find it that much harder," say watchers of the SABAH political scene.UMNO and place 'weak candidates in each other's territories and at the end of the elections have a post poll alliance. "A pre poll alliance will be disastrous and the voters will be confused about whom to vote for- the guys who were in the UMNO till the other day or UMNO which is the main opposition," says an analyst. Those in the know of things say thatWilfred Bumburing and Lajim Ukin will try to target the 20 odd seats where the BARISAN had victories with small margins in the last  elections.

A Senator will be the next Sabah leader to leave the ruling BN coalition to join the Sabah Reform Front, a movement set up by Wilfred Bumburing and Lajim Ukin, and aligned to the Pakatan Rakyat led by Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, to fight for change in the poverty-stricken East Malaysian state.
Amongst names tossed around as to who could be the latest to make the switch out of the BN is Senator Maijol Mahap, an Upko vice president who is believed to have tendered his resignation from the party earlier this week.
"A giant rally will be held in Kota Marudu on August 12 and a major announcement will be made. Anwar will be there to speak to the crowds and join in the celebration. Najib is not being smart by choosing to come at a date so near to our event. He will be humiliated as he won't be able to reverse the trend. Just like Muhyiddin, he will fail," PKR vice president Tian Chua told Malaysia Chronicle.
Tian was referring to last night's news that Najib planned to head to Sabah on August 11, where the PM said he would announce the details of a Royal Commission of Inquiry into the illegal immigrants problem there.
Maijol the man?
It is believed Maijol's term as Senator will only expire next year. In the meantime, he cannot be sacked or removed.
Malaysia Chronicle could not reach Maijol for confirmation, while Tian declined to reveal identity details. However, the PKR stalwart confirmed that another leader was coming on board and that there would be several more joining soon.
"It can be said that I belong to Upko which is a party that is attractive and has a great culture. President Tan Sri Bernard Dompok is a good and competent leader. Upko is very fortunate to have leaders like him. However, after studying the problems persisting in Sabah, while visible settlement efforts, with a heavy heart, I have to leave the struggle," Maijol is reported to have said in several Sabah blogs.
"I no longer had faith that the BN can or will resolve critical issues in Sabah, such as the issue of illegal immigrants which are long lasting, high poverty rate in Sabah, the elimination of racial KDM (Kadazandusun Murut) from the public service and scholarship awards, the land problems, 5% oil royalty, 'Borneo-nization' and the Cabotage Policy."
Tremendous pressure to stop BN breakup
The embattled Najib is under tremendous pressure to stop Sabah BN from breaking up after losing two Members of Parliament to the Pakatan Rakyat.
Wilfred, the former Upko deputy chief, is the Tuaran MP and Lajim, an Umno supreme council member, is the Beaufort MP. Both men are now independent lawmakers aligned to the Pakatan.
So far, neither men have joined any of the Pakatan parties of DAP, PAS and PKR, but Wlifred is expected to move into PKR while Lajim is believed to be keen to join PAS. It is not clear yet where Maijol is headed but it could be any of the Pakatan parties or Sapp.
Pakatan's role is to provide them with an umbrella under which they can contest, iron out disputes and to prevent multi-corner fights so as to enhance the Opposition's strength in taking on BN, which has controversially ruled Sabah since 1963.
"Sabah leaders who leave BN can also join Sapp. There is no restriction, it is up to the individuals. At this stage, we look at the overall goal of freeing the people of Sabah from poverty and oppression above everything else," said Tian, the Pakatan chief negotiator in the agreement.
Will Najib succeed where Muhyiddin failed
Indeed, the long-anticipated exodus of leaders from the corruption-tainted BN into the Opposition is finally picking momentum. It is expected to intensify as leaders from Sarawak, Johor and other states declare their stand ahead of the general election.
All eyes are now on whether Najib will succeed in stopping his nemesis, Anwar Ibrahim, and succeed where his deputy, Muhyiddin Yassin, had failed.
Last Saturday, the Deputy Prime Minister had also headed to Sabah - a day before Wilfred and Lajim were due to officially announce their exit from the BN. But Muhyiddin could not stop the duo.
“You heard the speech of Wilfred Bumburing... suggesting he has absolutely no confidence in the prime minister and the Umno government... the vast disparity between the rich and the poor, the marginalisation of the masses there and the failure to accept recommendations for the formation of the RCI on the illegals issue,” Anwar told a press conference earlier this week.
“I will be back in Sabah on the 12th (of August) with some more positive news. Because Umno has ridiculed me for so long, saying that there are no surprises,” the Opposition Leader, widely seen to be Malaysia's next prime minister, teased.
Arrest the 'M' in Project M if you are sincere!
The issue of illegal workers given citizenship and permanent residency in exchange for voting BN is a long-standing grouse in Sabah. Not only have Sabahans been squeezed out of jobs and forced to accept reduced slices of the economic pie, the social problems of heightened and violent crimes plus overcrowding in housing and public amenities have been horrendous.
Sabahans blame the "diabolical plot" on the BN, accusing the coalition of trying to cling to power via the Project M, where the 'M' allegedly stands for Mahathir Mohamad, the former premier who ruled between 1981 and 2003. Mahathir has denied any responsibility for the scheme but Sabahans have never forgiven him and bay for his blood continuously.
Official figures put the number of illegals in Sabah at several hundreds of thousands but it might be above a million, some experts have warned.
"We welcome Najib's announcement that he will reveal the RCI details when he comes over. We challenge him to present a comprehensive plan but we are very sure that Najib will only be able to give his usual vague watered-down terms of reference," said Tian.
"The test is, can Najib launch a real inquiry that is independent, neutral and focused without exposing Dr M? Would Najib dare to arrest Dr M? Najib shouldn't waste time with doubletalk, he should put it to test and let Sabahans see for themselves how sincere he and BN are.
Haris Ibrahim started out attacking Anwar Ibrahim because Anwar refuse to appoint Jeffery Kittigan as Sabah PKR Head. This is in spite of the well known fact that Jeffery is a very problematic character in Sabah PKR. He is very bitter when Anwar rejects Jeffery Kittigan. He ran articles after article bad-mouthing and slandering Anwar Ibrahim for not accepting his candidate of choice. Then, he was the first to come to Jenapala's defence when Jenapala was refused permission to contest in the PKR elections. Harris came out in public accusing the PKR (namely the current PKR Secretary General as being a forger of letter). He also carried the statement of Salehuddin Hashim in full in his blog. Salehuddin is an estadblished betrayer or the PKR and the stuggle for reform. At the same time, he refuse to carry Saifuddin's statement on the same subject. (So much for being a responsible blogger and media man).Haris went to town defending Jenapala and accusing PKR of forging the letter. Yet, Saifuddin have been CONSISTENT in his story with regards to the sacking of Jenapala. Even Haris himself reports in his blog:
What was the date of the letter and who signed it, I asked.Saifudin confirmed that the letter was issued in February, 2009 and signed by the then Sec-Gen, Sallehuddin Hashim.
I drew Saifudin's attention to Jenapala's contention that he has never been served with a show cause notice. How?
Saifudin explained that he was not the Sec-Gen at the material time and that he cannot fully recall what happened then, but pointed out that some offences by party members may be of sufficient severity that a decision to summarily dismiss, without an inquiry process, may be taken. This might be the case with Jenapala. He would have to check to verify if this was the case.
The same line is repeated by Saifuddin back in September 2010 and it's repeated until today. Saifuddin had not changed any of his story and has been consistent throughout since.
I mean, at that point in time, Saifuddin had in his hands newspaper clippings of Jenapala forming a new party, the minutes that allows the SU to sack Jenapala if he was found to have formed a new party and testimonies from various sources attesting to Jenapala's betrayal of the party.
Saifuddin DID NOT NEED to forge a sacking letter. He can write one himself. BUT, Saifuddin found the letter of sacking in the stack of files that he looked into. And he used that instead. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
BUT NO. Haris prefers to listen to Salehuddin Hashim. He takes Salehuddin's words as bible and rejects Saifuddin's explanation altogether. He considers Salehuddin's statement as the ultimate truth despite the fact that Saifuddin open declaration of his willingness for the PDRM to conduct investigation on the forgery accusation.
Haris relied on the words of Johnson Chong, who he claims as one of the few good men left in PKR. Yet, in all of Johson's statement, never did he managed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that forgery had taken place. Just because Johnson Chong has never seen the letter before doesn't make the letter unauthentic.
My source inside PKR tells me that Salehuddin had been guilty of not sending out letters despite clear decisions made by the party. Letters which he was supposed to have sent out were written and signed but never sent out.
That's how Saifuddin found the letter in the stack of files left behind by Salehuddin. The letter is authentic and so far there is no evidence attesting to it's forgery accept the words of a known traitor name Salehuddin Hashim (and someone name Johnson Chong who claims he had never seen the letter, like that's going to amount to anything).
And, after the betrayal of Salehuddin which may have led to the BN regaining their 2/3 majority, what sick and twisted mind would accept Salehuddin's words as the absolute truth. Anyone can come up with an affidavit my dear Haris Ibrahim. Even liars can issue affidavits.
The lies against Anwar Ibrahim in 1998 were all contained in affidavits. Yet they are all false and fabrications. So, Salehuddin's affidavit may well be just another lie. I mean, the guy is a traitor. How can we take the word of a traitor. He turned his back on the cause that he once believed in. That speaks volumes of the man.
In short, Haris has been found to be defending characters like Jenapala, Salehuddin, Jeffery Kittigan, Zaid Ibrahim etc all of whom have either betrayed the party openly or troublesome people that has been rejected by members of PKR.
In my book, that makes Haris a prime candidate for another turncoat. I mean, turncoats are well taken care of by BN, you know.
His idea of putting up candidates in seats contested by PKR will ONLY BENEFIT UMNO/BN DIRECTLY. His so call MCLM is formed after all his lackey failed to make an impact in the PKR elections.
People like Johnson Chong is said to be short-listed as one of their candidates. It's no wonder that the little twat came out in the open supporting the affidavit of Salehuddin Hashim without any qualms. For all you know, Salehuddin Hashim is part of the MCLM setup.
So, either way, what Haris is doing right now is nothing more than service to UMNO and Barisan Nasional. He might as well claim all his expenses to UMNO because UMNO is the prime beneficiary of MLCM.
My advice. Stop condeming the BN and adopt your real identity Haris: A BN STOOGE.
Have you ever been tempted to do what you should rightfully be doing? Most probably not! For, the very definition of temptation is wishing to do that which you are not supposed to do! You are tempted to do the very things that you are warned against, eating what you are advised not to, and wondering about places that are declared danger zones! As old as Adam and Eve, temptation is what led the original First Couple to taste the fruit of that one forbidden tree, and commit the Original Sin that led to the Fall of Man! Temptation is very easy to give in to, and near impossible to resist.
The Devil outside may be easier to resist than the Devil within, which makes temptation a natural state of existence for us. Our natural urges are all set to be tempted and lead us astray. We give in to temptation when we rationalize the outcome and convince ourselves that we are doing the right thing by giving in. The body craves pleasure and so, all the wrong things; the mind, which knows better, tries to resist, but then rationalizes the craving and gives way. Curiosity is a huge factor in temptation. Curiosity, which is basically a function of the mind, is aroused by denial or unapproachability.
The mind kicks in and starts wondering about the denial, wishing to discover what would happen if we did exactly what we are warned not to do! When a man hears colleagues rib each other about extra-marital affairs, he starts wondering if he is missing out on something, an experience he may regret not having had? His curiosity and competitive spirit are aroused and he becomes a vulnerable candidate for infidelity. The mind plays tricks on us and we convince ourselves of the reasons we do certain things.
Notice how the day you start a diet also seems to be the day you crave all kinds of unhealthy food! You think of reasons to put off the dieting, or convince yourself that a little indiscipline will not cause much harm! The mind has its reasons that decide whether you give in or not. Temptation is the weapon used by unscrupulous people to control others. When Ravana wanted to abduct Sita, he took on the form of a golden deer that tantalises her. She sends Rama off in hot pursuit and Lakshman after him, thus falling into the hands of the evil Ravana! When Lord Indra wished to test King Kaushika (later Sage Vishwamitra), he sent Menaka, an apsara from his court, to disturb his meditation. Kaushika lived with Menaka for 10 years and they had a daughter — Shakuntala.
His arrested meditation had to continue thousands more years before he became Sage Vishwamitra and managed to overcome all passion and temptation. Temptation by itself is not a sin, though it may pave the path towards sin. To be tempted is normal, a natural state of affairs. Whether you give in to that temptation or not is what determines your character. If ever a married person were to tell me he or she has never felt attracted to a member of the opposite sex; if someone said they have not been ever tempted to cheat or lie, I would find that difficult to believe! We all have our weak moments, and to be tempted is not wrong. So temptation is a good indicator of character. You do not know you are honest unless tempted by dishonesty! How do you know you are faithful unless you are tempted to be unfaithful? The strength of your resistance is a measure of your faith, fidelity, or your honesty!
What fun would a life without temptations be? Temptation is also the stuff seductions and wild imaginings are made of! To be tempted by love and desire, to allow the mind to meander through forbidden pastures before resolving to resist them in the long-term interest, or to give in at times… Can you imagine life without ever being tempted by anything at all? What a pallid, colourless existence that would be! In Oscar Wilde’s words, “I can resist anything except temptation!”
